Reporting use of song videos
In order for songwriters to be remunerated when their songs are used in school assemblies and collective worship, the DfE pays the cost of a CCLI copyright licence for all state primary schools in England.
When you report your use of PopUK songs to CCLI, we receive royalties from them, at no cost to your school*, and this enables us to make our song bank free for schools.
Each term, we email you a PDF summarising the songs you’ve viewed or used at your school. Any songs used in assemblies or collective worship should be reported. The email contains detailed instructions how to report using the links on the PDF to directly access each song title on the CCLI reporting site. You can always get in touch with us if you have any questions. We ask that you let us know when you’ve reported your song use so that we can update our records.
You need to set up a CCLI profile and obtain your school Access Code from CCLI, which you will find on any correspondence from them, or contact CCLI on 01323 436100

Reporting use of music scores
The DfE also pays the cost of a PMLL licence to cover printing, photocopying or digitally displaying music scores in lessons, assemblies, choirs, orchestras & rehearsals.
When you report your use of PopUK music scores to PMLL, we receive royalties from them, at no cost to your school*, and this enables us to make our resources free for schools.
*All other schools in UK & abroad need to ensure these licenses are covered by your school.
Contact PMLL on 0203 848 7410 if you do not know your login details and then report your use of music scores through the PMLL portal.
Reporting use of songs in performance
The performance of PopUK songs in concerts i.e. to parents or your school community should be reported using your school PRS & PPL licences (these are not covered by the DfE and must be purchased by all schools).
