About PopUK

Our mission

PopUK uses the power of music and singing to help children navigate life: 

• to engage children in crucial life issues by bringing together PSHE, SMSC, RE and Music curricular
• to empower and equip teachers to deliver these curricular by providing access to FREE innovative, high-quality, and engaging resources 
• to provide schools with free easy-to-use songs and resources that can be used by staff of all levels of musical ability.

Our outcomes

We aim to help children understand their:

• Value – children know they are valued for who they are, are treated equally, and develop a sense of belonging, regardless of background or ability.
• Identity – children feel secure, confident, respect each other and develop resilience. 
• Purpose – children discover their potential and progress in all aspects of their lives, including learning, work, health, relationships, and spirituality.

Our history

For over 20 years, Andy Silver, founder and director of PopUK, has been writing songs to equip primary schools to teach the social, moral, spiritual, and cultural (SMSC) curriculum.

PopUK has developed relationships with primary schools across the UK through Multi Academy Trusts, Music Hubs, Church of England and Catholic Dioceses and Sing Up.

PopUK songs have been published by Harper Collins, Bloomsbury and Faber.

Initially, our focus was delivering in-school projects. However, following the reduction in school budgets and the impact of the Covid pandemic on schools, PopUK decided to make all its resources free to schools, relying on schools reporting song usage to copyright agencies for fund the project.
